Iron Ore

Iron ore is a rock from which iron can be extracted for its commercial use. Iron is a malleable metal, and with magnetic properties that oxidizes quickly.

Iron has a dark silver-grey color, but it can also be yellow, blue, pink, or black depending on the rock in which it is found.

In nature iron ore is found forming numerous minerals, among them, many oxides and it is rarely found free. To obtain iron in its elemental state, the oxides must be reduced with carbon and are submitted to a refining process.
